Amie Casey

Founding CEO & Producer

With an entrepreneurial background in the entertainment and fashion industries, Amie entered the film industry formally in 2015 with her first major producing role in the independent sci-fi television series We Were Tomorrow, which shot internationally across four countries.

 

After continuing to produce on a variety of independent Australian productions, Amie established her own production company, Red Empire Productions in 2017 where she continues to freelance and collaborate with other producers as well as nurture and develop her own in-house production team and content.

 

Amie favours producing thought-provoking content that pushes boundaries and combines Australian and international aspects, in aspiration to deliver content that resonates with global audiences.

 

Amie is also a recognised ambassador for Blackmagic Design, as a favoured emerging Australian female producer.

Ellie Popov
Executive Producer

Creative Executive

Ellie has worked in the film, theatre and television industry for over a decade as an award winning actress.  Through her work as an acting coach , she has mentored many students that have graced the television screens of Australia and cinema screens around the world.

Ellie has created, written, and directed hundreds of hours of content for her students for many of Queensland’s foremost acting intuitions.

In 2013 she wrote and starred in the award winning Australian feature Film ‘Thicker Than Water’. Her latest project ‘Interface’ is a ten part science-fiction series produced by Red Empire Productions and partnered with Sonar Entertainment.  Filming is scheduled to commence later this year spanning across Australia and Asia.

 Ellie’s years of experience both in front of and behind the camera, allow her to create content that marries the art of performance and story-telling with the precision of film making.

Charles Jazz Terrier Executive Producer & Head of Talent Relations
 

Charles Jazz Terrier is a Producer, Writer, Actor and Director, hailing from Melbourne, Australia. He is a dual citizen of Australia and France, with over 10+ years as a Professional in the Film and Television industry, and has overseen and been involved in numerous projects across the Australian, US and International Markets. As a Producer, and Head of Talent and Relationships at Red Empire Productions, Charles is responsible for the establishment, maintenance and creation of new partnerships with both Screen and Industry talent, while as a Creative he has been responsible for such programs as “WTFitness” as well as providing key support and EP responsibilities across a host of Red Empire’s slate. As an actor Charles is known for such roles as Chad in Legacies (2020-21), Lewis Knox in Ms Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries (2019), Jackson in Occupation (2018), and Danny Winter in Wentwoth (2018)

Alex Contis

Alexandra has been involved in the film industry for more than a decade, starting her career in the accounting department and transitioning into film producing, development and script writing.

With an BA in Economics, she has worked across international productions such as, “I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here”, UK and Germany, “San Andreas”, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Thor”, “The Shallows”, as well as Australian productions such as “Grace Beside Me”, “Escape and Evasion” and “Expired”. Alexandra’s passion is in storytelling where she understands the impact creativity and art can have on the human mind, spirt and soul. She has been actively involved in script development of enthralling projects like “The Last Zombie”, “Rocada”, “The Nine Nights”, “Kajunga” and “The Forgotten 1943”. 

Alexandra understands the importance of situating productions with their own individual business models and easily finds the balance between creative development and ‘the money talk’.

Roberto Merlini

Roberto Merlini has 25+ years experience in the music and multimedia industry, working with world-renowned artists. Local and international clients such as: EMI, Channel 9, Mushroom Music, MTV, Gateway Entertainment Group NYC and Ocean Way Studios LA. Roberto Merlini has a long-standing affiliation with studio producers such as Mark Optiz, who in his early days guided and trained him.

Wade Boyes

Wade Boyes is an accomplished Australian screen industry executive producer with a committed focus on global relationships and cutting edge storytelling. Wade has a progressive slate of reality, feature documentary and drama projects at all stages of production. He has established a reputation for pushing boundaries on social issues while at the same time understanding the nuances of dynamic contemporary international screen markets. He has been awarded the coveted roles of Global Ambassador for both MIPTV and MIPCOM in Cannes. Wade embraces the modern era in screen storytelling where markets change quickly and industry disruptors constant. Wade believes this strengthens and enhances possibilities for executive producers and key creatives. He also believes Australia has a pivotal role to play.

Shari Hamrick-Grewal
Executive Producer, Sales and Distribution

 

Based in Greater China for over ten years, Steve is one of the few independent producers today who has successfully bridged
the gap between China and the United States, offering a unique blend of on set production experience, creative
development, distribution and studio-grade financing experience. He is best known for productions including THE LAZARUS
PROJECT with Paul Walker, THE WOMEN with Meg Ryan, THE KING OF FIGHTERS with Maggie Q and most recently the FBI
codebreaking series exclusively premiering on the Roku Channel, CYPHER.​

An award winning Producer, Writer, Director, Shari has consistently been contracted by bond companies, independent studios
and private investors as a ‘solutionist lmmaker’ across many notable productions, working with budgets from $100k to
$300m US. Shari has also worked as a Producing Executive on lms such as: Mission Impossible III, Legend of Zorro, Man on
Fire, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, the Interpreter as well as tv series content including: Amazing Race, The Unit, Dog Eat
Dog and Seti the First. Her clients include NBC, CBS, Fox, Sony, Warner, Paramount, Universal, Discovery Channel, SBS, CCTV to
name a few. Shari has extensive experience working internationally in Australia, across the Middle East, Europe and Asia.
Shari has been a member of the Producers Guild of America for twenty years and serves on the PGA Producers Council,
International Film and TV Producers Council, FilmUSA committee, NATPE, AFM, British Film Institute, IFP board and The Basin
Film Society. She also produced the ProShow (Producer Showcase) event for four years was an active volunteer for ve years
at the Produced By Conference.
